Tenants contents insurance covers tenants personal possessions in a rented property.
Most policies offer cover for effects owned by a landlord if the tenant is responsible under the lease, so that you there is no lost deposit if for example there was a fire. Tenants Contents Policy conditions:
- The property is occupied as a private dwelling and not used for business purposes.
- There are NO shrubs over 3 metres tall within 7 metres.
- You have NOT been convicted of any criminal offences (excluding motoring).
- You or any of the interested parties have NOT had insurance declined or refused.
- The property is not prone to flooding and is free from signs of damage by subsidence, heave or landslip.
- The property is in an area free from subsidence and flooding.
